This serene lake is considered sacred, believed to have been a meditation spot for Lord Shiva and later, Adi Shankaracharya. Its waters are thought to be purifying, and it’s a part of many pilgrims’ journey to Kedarnath. The lake was renamed Gandhi Sarovar after Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed here in 1948.

By Air
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (approx. 240 km from Gaurikund).
By Train
Rishikesh Railway Station is the closest railhead, around 220 km away.
By Road
Well-connected by roads from Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun to Gaurikund, from where you begin the trek to Kedarnath and Chorabari.
Devotional Tour Package Itinerary – Day Wise
Day 1 – Arrival at Haridwar
Meet our tour guide at Haridwar. Evening visit to Har Ki Pauri and witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti.
Day 2 – Haridwar to Guptkashi (205 km)
Drive via Rudraprayag. Stop at Devprayag, where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda merge to form the holy Ganga.
Day 3 – Guptkashi to Gaurikund (32 km), Trek to Kedarnath (16 km)
After breakfast, drive to Gaurikund, then trek to Kedarnath. Enroute see Gaurikund Temple.
Day 4 – Kedarnath Temple and Trek to Chorabari Lake (2 km)
Early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple, then trek to Chorabari Lake (Gandhi Sarovar). Spend peaceful moments by the glacier lake.
Day 5 – Return to Guptkashi
Trek back to Gaurikund and return drive to Guptkashi.
Day 6 – Guptkashi to Rishikesh (180 km)
Drive to Rishikesh, visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and attend evening Ganga Aarti.
Day 7 – Departure from Rishikesh
Tour ends with blessings from the Himalayas.
